Royal Opera House

The Company was approached by the set designer at the Royal Opera House in London, who had a problem because they had built a set with a tree effect scenery, but because they had used synthetic fibres the fire department condemned the scenery. They urgently needed some fibres which were not synthetic because the opening night was only two weeks away. We were able to send them samples of various natural fibres at short notice, and they chose cut and dressed Bahia Piassava. The new scenery was produced and the production of Figaro was able to open on time.

Model Houses

The Company has supplied various model makers over the last few years with Coco fibre for use as thatch for model houses. Model houses with Coco fibre from our company have been exhibited as far away as New York. The picture shows one of the thatch model houses.

Race Course Jumps

The Company received an enquiry from a race course, who were building jumps, and needed some sort of substantial material to build the jumps out of. They were supplied with a quantity of Sherbro Piassava in its original long lengths.
